I hate the
phrase “family film”. Whenever a film is described as a “family film”, it means
that the film is SUITABLE for the whole family, i.e, the kids. Very rarely does
a family film actually ENTERTAIN the whole family. Despicable Me 2 is one of
these rarities.Saturday, 6 July 2013

Superman Returns with a vengeance!

After
Earth. World War Z. Fast and Furious 6. I’ve been somewhat disappointed by
films lately. I’ve either been warded off by bad trailers, or enticed by a good
trailer, and left the cinema massively underwhelmed. Enter Man of Steel.
Intense music. A power team combining Zack Snyder’s style, Christopher Nolan’s
direction and Hans Zimmer’s music promised something big, but I was worried
that I would once again be disappointed by what I saw.
I had
absolutely nothing to worry about whatsoever.

After Earth or After Thought?
www.facebook.com/vuepointuk
Hey, remember that one
great film that M. Night Shyamalan made? Nope, me neither. However, when I saw
the trailer for After Earth, I thought that maybe this sci-fi action thriller may finally
put a good film to his name.
Unfortunately, I was
wrong.

DEATHLY Hallows...it's a pun, see?
www.facebook.com/vuepointuk
So I’m
finally nearing the end of the line. With only two more Potter games left, the
finish is in sight. I just wish that
they could be two good ones. Unfortunately, wishes don’t come true, and it
would seem that the developers saved the worst for last.
Doctor...who?

Anyone else wondering just
what the f&$k is going on? Me and my friend Adam just watched the
series finale, and our heads are still spinning a little. Well, more me than
Adam, because he took a peek online and now knows what will happen in the 50th.
Being a lovely guy though, he's not gonna spoil anything for me. So here's
what's gonna happen: me and Adam are gonna review the episode, and maybe
suggest a few theories on what's coming...although that bit will mainly be me.
We'll try to keep it spoiler free, but read at your own peril, 'cos a lot
happened tonight folks!

Corporate Madness

Okay, so I’m
gonna diverge from the norm a little here, and rather than review something, I’m
gonna make a statement on something I feel particularly strongly about –
commercialization. People who become famous via the internet are usually the
more talented people in the world, as they have been signed down to pure
talent, rather than high up connections. I will hold up my hands and say that
even Justin Bieber had some credibility behind him when he first got started,
but in my opinion, signing a record contract has been the downfall of him, and
many others.I mean, seriously...just look at Nicki Minaj before and after she got signed!

The Cybermen get an upgrade!
www.facebook.com/vuepointuk
I nearly
cried last week at the end of Doctor Who, when I saw that they were doing
another Cyberman episode. Sure it’s been a while, and some of their fans might
welcome their return, but I was hoping that this newfound originality of the
last few weeks might hold. I went into this episode expecting to see more of
the same, but I was actually pleasantly surprised!
