Okay, so I’m
gonna diverge from the norm a little here, and rather than review something, I’m
gonna make a statement on something I feel particularly strongly about –
commercialization. People who become famous via the internet are usually the
more talented people in the world, as they have been signed down to pure
talent, rather than high up connections. I will hold up my hands and say that
even Justin Bieber had some credibility behind him when he first got started,
but in my opinion, signing a record contract has been the downfall of him, and
many others.I mean, seriously...just look at Nicki Minaj before and after she got signed!Friday, 17 May 2013

The Cybermen get an upgrade!
www.facebook.com/vuepointuk
I nearly
cried last week at the end of Doctor Who, when I saw that they were doing
another Cyberman episode. Sure it’s been a while, and some of their fans might
welcome their return, but I was hoping that this newfound originality of the
last few weeks might hold. I went into this episode expecting to see more of
the same, but I was actually pleasantly surprised!

The Final Frontier - Star Trek: Into Darkness Review
www.facebook.com/vuepointuk
The posters
for Star Trek: Into Darkness promise something big, featuring big statements
such as “Choose a side”, or “Earth will fall”. From the trailers alone we can
see that visually we’re looking at something pretty damn spectacular, but past
experience has shown that pretty colours don’t make a film. Fortunately, Into
Darkness has plenty of just about everything else that makes a film good, so we
aren’t just looking at some nifty explosions. What we have here is an intricate
plot, some intense action scenes, and an all around brilliant watch.

One Step Backwards = Another Two Forward

After the terrible ordeal that was “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, I searched deep within my soul, and after a lot of digging, heavy breathing and a little crying, I found the will to go on. I took Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix from its place on my shelf and watched my hungry PS3 (another console upgrade? Hell yeah) greedily take the disc from my hand.

Who you gonna call?

There’s
something strange in the neighbourhood this week as the Doctor and Clara travel
to a haunted house in 1974 looking for a ghost. It seems that writer Neil Cross
has ditched the sci-fi theme in favour of a chilling ghost story, and aside
from some blatant stealing from other films and a ridiculous number of
cringe-inducing clichés, this episode is actually pretty enjoyable, and
sometimes downright scary.

No. Just...no.

There are many things in the world that cause depression,
such as a bad break-up, the thought of attending a Twi-athalon, and Gordon
Brown. Something else that’s rather depressing is knowing that something bad is
inevitable, and this is exactly what I was thinking as I sat down for game 4 of
the Harry Potter series.

And I wasn’t wrong.

Games 2 and 3 of Harry P. What went wrong? (Part 2)
www.facebook.com/vuepointuk
So, after my thoroughly enjoyable ride through the first Harry Potter game, we get an upgrade to PS2! Unfortunately, a better system doesn’t mean better game. The Chamber of Secrets game wasn’t bad, it just seemed to lack the charm that the first game had. Gone were the happy little minigames, puzzles and collectables, in favour of a darker, more action-oriented game.
